Week 2 came up with another Herculean task ; interactive video making. But I am grateful to find out how creative and interesting these kind of videos can be, In order to analyse Interactive videos i came upon several interactive videos which are indeed thought provoking. In most of these interactive videos interactivity plays an important role in delivering it's social context. One of the documentary which I particularly appreciated is 'the Space We Hold'. The documentary is based upon the stories of 'Comfort women', who were sold to sexual slavery during World War II. Interactivity has been used ti create active user engagement in this documentary which creates a community healing for the victims of rape and torture. According to Hudson,(2008)" the polyvocality of interactive documentary constitutes a radically different representational practice that has the potential to overcome the political and social inequalities that characterize traditional documentary. " 'The Space We Hold' enables the viewers to respond to the stories of the women as well as inspiring other people to share their difficult stories through the links to it's twitter account thus creating a ripple effect in the society. The documentary is constructed as first-hand accounts of these women making us feel as if we are directly talking and connecting with them improving the act of empathizing. Personally, 'Space we hold' was really evocative for me and I am looking forward to creating and learning more interactive videos
